An apparent gang-related stabbing at an apartment complex near The Shops in Mission Viejo left one man dead and another hospitalized, authorities said Thursday.
The double stabbing was reported about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 28000 block of Marguerite Parkway, said Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Lane Lagaret.
Arriving deputies found two male victims with stab wounds, and paramedics transported them for hospital treatment, Lagaret said. One had suffered a stab wound to the throat and the other suffered a stab wound to the stomach, Lagaret said.
One of the men died at the hospital, and the other remained hospitalized, Lagaret said. The attack was believed to have been gang-related, Lagaret said.
Shops Boulevard was closed to the public overnight as an investigation was conducted and the search continued for the suspect or suspects.
