
Kate Farrell of Windham, New Hampshire, won Sunday’s sixth annual women’s-themed Tinker Bell Half Marathon through the Disneyland Resort and streets of Anaheim, completing the 13.1-mile course in one hour, 23 minutes, 27 seconds.
Audrey Urlacher of Boise, Idaho, was second in 1:25:38. Kellie Nickerson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was third in 1:26:39. Nickerson won the inaugural race in 2012 and was second last year.
About 12,000 runners entered the race, including nearly 5,000 who also entered Saturday’s Tinker Bell 10K, organizers said.
The course began on Disneyland Drive, near Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. The runners then ran through the Disneyland Resort and took to the streets of Anaheim on Walnut Street, heading north to Broadway.
The field then ran east on Broadway to Anaheim Boulevard, near Anaheim City Hall, then west on Broadway, south on Harbor Boulevard to Ball Road, east to Anaheim Boulevard, south to Katella Avenue, north on Manchester Avenue, west on Disney Way and back through the Disneyland Resort. The race ended near the Disneyland Hotel.
There were Disney characters and entertainment along the course.
