Remains found in a rural hillside in San Clemente will be tested Friday to determine if they are human or animal, authorities said.
The remains were found and reported by a hiker at 2:06 p.m. Thursday in the area of Camino Vera Cruz and Avenida Pico, according to Lt. Matthew Stiverson of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
A forensic anthropologist will assist the county coroner’s office Friday morning at the scene to test the remains, Stiverson said
The area where the remains were found was blocked to the public Thursday night.
