A luxury Tesla Model X was destroyed in a fiery crash outside the Orange County Fire Authority headquarters in Irvine.

The car had driven into the front gate of the headquarters complex at 10:27 p.m. Saturday night and was fully engulfed in flames.

Two people in the car were evaluated on scene and then taken to a local hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The fire authority headquarters is located at the eastern end of Tustin Ranch Road, and this is at least the sixth time that a vehicle has crashed into the front gate.
