
A dog was killed and four firefighters sustained minor injuries in a house fire Friday in Irvine.
The fire was reported about 5:35 p.m. in a two-story single-family home in the 14000 block of Bel Aire Street, according to Capt. Alan Wilkes of the Orange County Fire Authority.

The fire was knocked down by 6:28 p.m., Wilkes said.
The injured firefighters were taken to a hospital and the Red Cross was summoned to assist four displaced residents, Wilkes said.
