An armed robber wearing a jacket with “security” stenciled on the back held up a Subway restaurant Thursday morning in Fullerton, police said.

The robber entered the fast-food restaurant about 7:45 a.m. at 2627 W. Orangethorpe Ave., brandishing a black handgun, according to Fullerton Police Sgt. Jon Radus. He jumped over a counter and directed an employee to give him $115 from a cash register, Radus added.

The robber also directed the employee to open a safe, but the man said he couldn’t, so the thief fled, Radus said.

The suspect was described as a black man in his 20s who is about 6-feet- 1 and 190 pounds. He has tattoos on his face and an eyebrow piercing above his left eye, Radus said.

He wore a green jacket with “SECURITY” on the back in yellow letters. He was also wearing blue jeans, white tennis shoes and white gloves.
