A power outage forced the shutdown of the North Justice Center courthouse in Fullerton Thursday.

A failed electrical transformer forced court officials to shut down operations for the day at the building at 1275 N. Berkeley Ave., said Gwen Vieau, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Superior Court system.

Workers were installing a temporary generator, but it will not be enough for the court to conduct regular business, Vieau said. It is anticipated that the courthouse will be open again Friday as usual, she said.

Anyone who had a court date Thursday should still go to the courthouse so they can receive further instructions on where the hearing may be heard elsewhere, she said.
