Two men, one of whom was armed, robbed a Carl’s Jr. restaurant in Laguna Hills, authorities said Thursday.

No one was injured in the holdup reported at 11:04 p.m. Wednesday at 24901 Alicia Parkway, said Lt. M. Stiverson of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. The robbers took cash and personal items including purses, wallets and cell phones, he said.

At one point during the robbery, several employees were locked in a freezer but it wasn’t immediately clear if they were forced to go in there or if they locked themselves in for safety, Stiverson said. It also wasn’t clear if there were any patrons inside during the time of the robbery.

The suspects were described as two tall, thin males wearing dark clothing, Stiverson said. One of the robbers was carrying a black semi- automatic handgun, he added.
