A former Westminster planning commission member faces up to 10 years in federal prison following his conviction for accepting a $15,000 bribe, officials said Friday.
Dave Vo, 43, of Westminster, who is an attorney, was convicted Thursday.
Vo, who served as a planning commissioner from 2009 through 2013, is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 8.
In 2011, Vo sought a $15,000 payoff to push through a liquor license from someone who turned out to be a confidential informant who alerted the FBI.
Vo’s attorney, Stanley Friedman, said his client is weighing an appeal.
“At trial, Mr. Vo contended that the funds in issue represented lawful payment for legal services,” Friedman said.
