Between 1,200 and 1,500 pounds of marijuana were confiscated from a boat off of Calafia Beach Sunday in San Clemente and the two men on board were arrested by sheriff’s deputies.
The “suspicious boat” and the marijuana were discovered about 7:50 a.m. and reported to the sheriff’s department by state lifeguards, sheriff’s Lt. Nate Wilson told the Orange County Register.
Harbor patrol deputies responded to the location and found two men on board along with the marijuana, the Register reported.
The marijuana was confiscated by authorities and the two men arrested on suspicion of transportation and possession of marijuana for sale, the paper reported.
