A 78-year-old Newport Beach man was killed Tuesday when the bike he was riding slammed into a vehicle in Irvine.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was riding the bike south on Laguna Canyon Road when he ran into a vehicle parked on the road’s shoulder near Lake Forest Drive about 9:50 a.m., according to Irvine police Lt. Dave Klug.
The victim was wearing a helmet, Klug said.
