Two men were arrested Thursday in Costa Mesa on suspicion of being in possession of about 4,000 Xanax pills with an estimated street value of $10,000, police said.
Gary Marianetti, 24, of Huntington Beach, and Eric Ramirez, 20, of Costa Mesa, were taken into custody just after 1 a.m. in the 1200 block of West Baker Street, said Roxi Fyad of the Costa Mesa Police Department.
Officers called to that block to investigate a report of a “suspicious vehicle,” which turned out to be owned by one of the suspects, saw the pair sitting together in an adjacent car, Fyad said. When the officers searched the two, they found the Xanax pills and about $500 on them, Fyad said.
The two were booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale. Marianetti was additionally booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and on three arrest warrants, Fyad said.
