Police Wednesday released surveillance video of a robbery at a Santa Ana gas station/mini-mart in hopes of generating tips that will lead to an arrest.
The robbery happened about 9:50 p.m. Tuesday at Santiago Food Mart-76 Gas Station, 617 E. 17th St. The suspect pulled out a silver and gray semiautomatic handgun as he approached two cashiers and demanded that they stuff cash into a pink tote bag, police said. The suspect then ran away with the loot.
The suspect is a white man about 40 to 45 years old, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot- 9 and weighing 170 to 190 pounds, police said. He wore a black hoodie with “California” on the front, blue jeans, a beige baseball cap and a blue-white bandana around his neck.
