A man was shot and wounded in Santa Ana, authorities said Monday.
Police received a report of shots fired at 11:22 p.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of South Evergreen Street, said Santa Ana police Comdr. Matt Sorenson. Arriving officers found a man with a gunshot wound in the upper torso, he said.
The man was taken to a hospital and expected to survive, the commander said.
The shooting was under investigation, Sorenson said. It occurred in a gang area but police were not certain it was gang-related.
