A man who robbed a Fullerton liquor store remained at large Wednesday.
The robbery happened about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue, said Fullerton police Sgt. Jon Radus.
The suspect picked up an item after entering the store and approached the counter as if he intended to buy it, but instead pulled out a handgun and demanded cash, Radus said.
The clerk handed over a small amount of currency and the suspect ran away, Radus said.
The suspect was described as a black man in his early 30s, about 6-foot- 1 with a thin build and no facial hair, Radus said. He wore gray sweatpants and a dark “hoodie” sweatshirt with the hood over his head.
A liquor store in Santa Ana was robbed about two hours later, but it is unlikely the two are connected, said Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
Anyone who has information helpful to detectives was asked to call Fullerton police Sgt. Matt Rowe at (714) 738-6776. Orange County Crime Stoppers accepts anonymous tips at (855) TIP-OCCS.
