Firefighters put out a vegetation fire Saturday behind a shopping center in San Clemente, authorities said.
Firefighters were on the scene at 12:15 p.m. behind the shopping center at Avenida Pico and Calle del Cerro, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
About 50 firefighters battled the seven-acre fire with no homes threatened and no evacuations, the OCFA said.
Helicopters pulled water from the Bella Collina Golf Course to help stop the fire’s forward progress at 1:45 p.m., the OCFA said.
OCFA officials reported at about 2:30 p.m. that they would keep some firefighters and a bulldozer on the scene for a few more hours to put out the last hot spots.
