An employee of a Buena Park doughnut shop was shot and wounded Wednesday by one of two men who robbed the 24-hour business, authorities said.
The crime occurred about 1 a.m. at Moodoo Donuts in the 5400 block of Beach Boulevard, said Buena Park police Sgt. Mike Lovchik, adding that the wounded man was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
The employee was serving a customer when two men entered, one of them armed with a handgun, Lovchik said.
The gunman jumped behind the counter and demanded cash, and during a struggle shot and wounded the employee, Lovchik said.
The man was described as black, wearing a dark sweatshirt, and had a bandanna over his face. His accomplice was described as a black or Hispanic man, wearing a light sweatshirt, also with a bandanna over his face. They fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash, Lovchik said.
Police were reviewing security video of the crime. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call police at (714) 562-3901 and ask to speak with a detective.
