A 25-year-old man who was struck and fatally injured by a car while he changed a tire on his vehicle in Orange Monday was identified Monday by the Orange County coroner’s office.
Juan Ruiz was changing a tire on his car in a parking lot in Orange when he was struck by a vehicle about 1:30 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.
Ruiz was rushed to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange but died about one half hour later, the coroner said.
The crash was being investigated by Westminster police. There’s no word yet whether the driver who struck Ruiz was cited for the crash.
