
A man was shot and wounded while riding a bicycle in Santa Ana, police said Friday.
The gunfire was reported at 10:55 p.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of Towner Street, said Santa Ana police Cmdr. Michael Claborn.
The man was riding when a vehicle approached him and someone inside fired multiple shots, striking the victim in the lower body, Claborn said.
The man was taken to a hospital where he was undergoing surgery. He’s expected to survive, Claborn said.
There was no vehicle description and authorities were trying to determine if the shooting was gang-related.
