A woman was shot and wounded while trying to prevent a man from killing himself, moments before he pulled the trigger on himself Sunday.
The 37-year-old man eventually died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, at a home in Ladera Ranch, in southern Orange County.
The woman may have been shot in her leg, possibly in a struggle, and was not seriously injured, said Lt. Nathan Wilson of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The shootings were at about 12:30 a.m. at the Laurel Canyon Apartment Homes, 76 Mercantile Way.
No names or other information were immediately released.
