A 48-year-old pedestrian who was struck and killed by a Metrolink train in Santa Ana was publicly identified Sunday by the Orange County coroner’s office.
Eduardo Ramirez of Santa Ana died at the scene where he was struck by the train.
The incident was reported at about 4:40 a.m. Jan. 10 in the 1100 block of East Fairhaven Avenue, said Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority. No one was hurt on the train.

A section of the track was closed while an investigation was conducted, and some Amtrak and Metrolink trains were delayed.
There was no indication if the death was an accident or suicide.
