
Crisis negotiators were called Wednesday afternoon to the Santa Ana (5) Freeway at Bake Parkway, where a man was threatening to jump from the overpass, police reported.
Police were notified about the situation around 12:45 p.m., said Kim Mohr of the Irvine Police Department. Negotiators were trying to convince the man to stand down, she said.

California Highway Patrol officers closed the truck bypass at the highway near the Irvine Spectrum shopping center.
