A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Thursday on the northbound Santa Ana (101) Freeway in the Boyle Heights area.
Paramedics sent to the freeway near Whittier Boulevard shortly after 5 a.m. pronounced the person dead at the scene, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
The northbound freeway was closed while an investigation was conducted.
