“Solo: A Star Wars Story” took in $103 million over the four-day holiday weekend at North American theaters, easily winning the box office battle over the second-place film, “Deadpool 2” which raked in a healthy $55 million in its second weekend of release.

The latest “Star Wars” film opened to what many analysts considered a disappointing total as it trailed previous opening weekends for films in the franchise. The numbers out Monday from the industry tracking group comScore are for Friday through Monday at theaters in the United States and Canada.

“Avengers: Infinity War” was in third place with $21.2 million in its fifth week, bringing its total domestic gross to more than $626 million.

“Book Club” was next with $12.5 million in its second weekend, while the Melissa McCarthy comedy “Life of the Party” took fifth place with $6.9 million in its third week.

Rounding out the 10 top-grossing films of the weekend were “Breaking In” with $5.7 million; “Show Dogs” with $4.5 million; “Overboard” with $4 million; “A Quiet Place” with $3 million; and “RBG” with $1.5 million.
