The Aliso Fire was accidental and “juvenile related,” according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
The blaze was reported at 1:07 p.m. on Saturday, June 2 in the Wood Canyon area near Soka University of America and burned 175 acres in the hillsides between Aliso Viejo and Laguna Beach during this past weekend, OCFA Capt. Tony Bommarito said Friday.
Three injuries were reported, including a firefighter who suffered a minor leg injury, Bommarito said. The fire threatened structures at the university and the Top of the World neighborhood in Laguna Beach, but none were damaged. Firefighters had the blaze mostly contained by Monday morning.
