The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent Thursday after rising by one-tenth of a cent for three consecutive days and five times in six days.
The average price of $3.643 is six-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 67.5 cents higher than one year ago but 2.9 cents less than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen 49.3 cents since the start of the year.
The decrease ends a run of six consecutive increases totaling eight-tenths of a cent.
The Orange County average price fell Thursday by one-tenth of a cent to $3.587, one day after rising three-tenths of a cent. It is six-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 64.8 cents higher than one year ago but 3.1 cents less then one month ago. It has risen 47.1 cents since the start of the year.
