All northbound lanes of the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway in Santa Ana were shut down Monday after a crash involving at least two overturned vehicles, and possibly three, authorities said.
The crash was reported just before 5 a.m. at 17th Street. One of the overturned vehicles went over the center divider, affecting traffic on the southbound side as well, the California Highway Patrol said.
The SigAlert was requested at 5:08 a.m. for all northbound lanes and the 17th Street onramps.
The accident was reported as an injury collision, although no injury details were immediately released.
