One person was killed Wednesday morning in a crash in the southbound lanes of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Anaheim.
Officers responded about 2:50 a.m. to reports of a big rig on its side, blocking the car pool lane of the freeway just south of Euclid Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
In addition to the big rig, officers also located a red sedan blocking the No. 3 lane, the CHP said. It was unclear which vehicle the person who died was in at the time of the crash.
A SigAlert was issued for a full freeway closure of the southbound lanes of the Santa Ana Freeway at Euclid Street until further notice. Traffic was being diverted at Euclid Street.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
