The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Friday for the 17th consecutive day, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $4.003, its lowest amount since April 11.

The average price has decreased 11.7 cents over the past 17 days, including seven-tenths of a cent Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 4 cents less than one week ago and 8.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 24.3 cents higher than one year ago.

The Orange County average price also dropped for the 17th consecutive day, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.971, its lowest amount since April 11. It has dropped 9.6 cents over the past 17 days, including six-tenths of a cent Thursday.

The Orange County average price is 4.1 cents less than one week ago and 9.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 23.8 cents higher than one year ago.
