A photo of a person of interest in the killing of a Santa Clarita man whose body was found in Lake County near Mendocino was released by the California Highway Patrol.
Patrick Michael Weber, 41, was found dead inside his white 2014 Sprinter van off the road on Highway 20, about a mile west of Walker Ridge Road, shortly after 7 a.m. on Feb. 20, the CHP reported.
The van was heading east when it went off the road, went into a ditch and then crashed into a tree, the CHP said.
CHP officers from the Lake County office responded to the scene and initially thought Weber died from the crash. During the course of the investigation they discovered Weber had died from a single gunshot wound. CHP officers also discovered a large quantity of marijuana in Weber’s vehicle.
The person of interest is white in his 20s or 30s. He stands 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He is also believed to be driving a late 1990s or early 2000s tan or gold Dodge Durango.
Anyone with information on this man was asked to call the CHP’s Lake Forest office at 707-467-4000.
