Average L.A. County Gas Price Rises For First Time Since April 30

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County recorded its first increase since April 30 Wednesday, rising four-tenths of a cent to $3.728, after dropping 48 of the past 49 days.

The average price dropped 39.6 cents over the previous 49 days, including four-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, to its lowest amount since April 2, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The average price dropped 46 consecutive days, was unchanged Sunday and resumed dropping on Monday.

The average price is 4.1 cents less than one week ago and 25.7 cents lower than one month ago, but 5.7 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price rose Wednesday for the second consecutive day after dropping 46 of the previous 48 days and being unchanged twice. The average price increased three-tenths of a cent to $3.678, 4.3 cents less than one week ago and 27.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 5.4 cents more than one year ago.
