The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped four-tenths of a cent Monday to $3.672 after rising two-tenths of a cent each of the past two days.

The average price is seven-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but 7.1 cents more than one month ago and three-tenths of a cent higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen 28.1 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price rose one-tenth of a cent for the second consecutive day to $3.636 after dropping one-tenth of a cent on Saturday. It is 1.5 cents less than one week ago but 5.8 cents more than one month ago and 2.4 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 28.7 cents since the start of the year.
