A mattress caught fire Monday inside a Costa Mesa home, leaving one person with minor injuries.
The unidentified man was treated at the scene and declined a trip to a hospital, said Costa Mesa Fire Capt. Joseph Noceti.
The fire broke out about 11 a.m. in the 2000 block of State Street, Noceti said. The residents were outside when firefighters arrived, he said.
Firefighters hurled the fiery mattress and box springs out of the home before the flames could spread, Noceti said.
There was no immediate word on what caused the blaze.
