A bus caught fire on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Irvine Tuesday, but nobody was injured.
Authorities were notified about the fire at 4:05 p.m. on the freeway north of Culver Avenue, according to the Myra Delgado of the California Highway Patrol. The bus burned in the far left lane, prompting some lane closures on both sides of the freeway to accommodate fire crews.
The passengers were taken off the freeway while they waited for a replacement bus to pick them up, according to the CHP.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
