A water main break Saturday resulted in a sinkhole that shut down northbound lanes of Malibu Canyon Road while workers repair it, authorities said.
The damage was first reported at 9:25 a.m. north of Pacific Coast Highway, said Sgt. Jim Braden of the Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.
The sinkhole measured about four feet in diameter and the roadway was immediately shut down, Braden said. The shutdown is between Civic Center Way and Malibu Knolls Road.
Deputies were alternating north and southbound traffic in southbound lanes while Malibu repairs were made, he said.
All lanes were reopened at 4:45 p.m.
