Firefighters needed 15 minutes Tuesday evening to extinguish a house fire in the West Adams area of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to 2916 S. Sycamore Ave., between La Brea Avenue and Redondo Boulevard, at 9:47 p.m. and encountered flames coming from the attic of the home, according to the department’s Nicholas Prange.

A total of 26 firefighters extinguished the flames. A knock down was declared at 10:02 p.m., Prange said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
