A small plane made an emergency landing in a riverbed near the border of Los Alamitos and Long Beach Tuesday evening but no one was injured.

The single-engine Cessna lost power and landed about 7:30 p.m. in a riverbed of the San Gabriel River near Wardlow Road, the Long Beach Fire Department reported on Twitter. The plane was trying to land at the Long Beach Airport, just over four miles away.

The airplane was not damaged, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.
