A fire in some construction materials Wednesday prompted a closure of the San Diego (405) Freeway in both directions in the Fountain Valley area.
The fire was reported near Euclid Street at about 8:55 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Firefighters were sent to extinguish wood framing that caught fire, the CHP reported.
The fire was put out and as of 9:45 a.m., all southbound lanes had reopened, and the northbound carpool lane was open, but all other northbound lanes remained closed.
