A rabid bat found Sunday in front of a phone store prompted Orange County Health Care Agency officials Friday to warn the public about the disease.
The bat was found about 11:15 a.m. Sunday at the entrance of an AT&T store at 131 E. Katella Ave., according to the agency.
Anyone who may have been exposed to the bat was asked to call county officials immediately at 714-834-8180 so they can be evaluated to see if they contracted rabies. After hours, call 714-834-7792 and leave a message.
Rabies can be treated with vaccines.
