It took Orange County firefighters 43 minutes to stop a brush fire that was in an unincorporated area of Lake Forest Saturday.
The fire was reported at 2:45 p.m. in the area of Live Oak Canyon and El Toro roads, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Greg Barta said.
The fire covered about 1/4 acre when firefighters arrived and threatened no structures, Barta said.
It grew to 1 1/2 acres before forward progress was stopped with an air attack and ground crews, he said.
Firefighters remained on the scene mopping up hot spots, Barta said.
