A brush fire scorched a half-acre in the Santa Ana River bottom Wednesday in Jurupa Valley before firefighters got the upper hand.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 8:11 a.m. near Etiwanda Avenue and 66th Street, and was fully contained by 9:30 a.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Eight engine crews from the county and city of Riverside encountered flames burning amid slow-burning fuels.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
