A brush fire erupted Wednesday morning in the Santa Ana River bottom in Jurupa Valley.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 8:11 a.m. near Etiwanda Avenue and 66th Street, and had engulfed a half-acre by 9:07 a.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Eight engine crews from the county and city of Riverside encountered flames burning slow-burning fuels. Heavy smoke was visible in the vicinity, officials said.
There was no immediate word on what sparked the blaze.
