A car struck a power pole in Mecca Friday, leaving an estimated 200 customers without power for several hours.
The outage was reported about 7 a.m. in an area generally near Lincoln Street, between Avenue 59 and Avenue 64, according to Imperial Irrigation District spokesman Robert Schettler. Power was reported to be back on about 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, separate power outages were reported in IID territory Friday in Indio and Thermal, although those outages were fixed earlier in the day. Causes for those outages were not given.
Any customers still without power were asked to check their main breakers or call IID customer service at 800-303-7756.
