A 19-year-old Pomona man was killed Tuesday morning when he crashed his car into the back of a big rig on the Orange (57) Freeway in San Dimas.
The crash occurred at 11:18 a.m. on the Orange Freeway south of Covina Boulevard, said California Highway Patrol Officer Rodrigo Jimenez.
The man in the Honda Civic was driving on the right shoulder at a high rate of speed, Jimenez said. The car slammed into the trailerof the 2016 Freightliner, which was parked on the right shoulder.
The Civic driver’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.
The crash investigation continued, and anyone with information was asked to call the CHP’s Baldwin Park office at 626-338-1164.
