The Orange County Fire Authority reported its hazardous materials team cleaned up a small liquid nitrogen leak Sunday at a lab at the University of California at Irvine.
The spill was reported to the agency by lab personnel who vacated the building in the 800 block of the Medical Science Court, OCFA Fire Capt. Greg Barta said.
“We dispatched our team to the site, made sure the building was vacated and then the team determined that the spill was liquid nitrogen,” Barta said.
The call came in just after 4 p.m. and the spill was cleaned up by 5:30 p.m, he said.
No injuries occurred, he added.
