A man was critically injured during a fire Sunday morning at a duplex in Stanton.

Firefighters dispatched at about 5 a.m. to the 10500 block of Sycamore Avenue had the blaze knocked down within 22 minutes of their arrival, the Orange County Fire Authority said.

Firefighters rescued a man inside one of the two duplex units and performed CPR prior to paramedics carrying him in critical condition to an area hospital. Firefighters also rescued a dog from the blaze.
