A 51-year-old man riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was killed when his bike rear-ended a big rig Saturday on the Orange (57) Freeway in Diamond Bar, authorities said.

Officers responded at 2:46 a.m. to the northbound freeway just south of Diamond Bar Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The biker, a resident of Bullhead City, Arizona, allegedly made an unsafe lane change into the number five lane and struck the right rear of a 2019 Freightline Cascadia’s trailer.

The 2016 Harley-Davidson then traveled out of control and struck a concrete K-rail. The Arizona resident was pronounced dead at the scene, and the big rig driver was not injured.

The CHP’s Baldwin Park area office urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at 626-338-1164.
