The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Sunday to its highest amount since Oct. 24, 2012, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.403.
The average price has risen five consecutive days, increasing 1.7 cents, including one-tenth of a cent Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 1.6 cents more than one week ago, 3.8 cents higher than one month ago and $1.183 greater than one year ago.
The average price has risen $1.171 since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price dropped one-tenth of cent for the second consecutive day to $4.369 after increasing by 2.1 cents over the previous three days, including 1 cent on Friday, it is the largest increase since July 3.
The Orange County average price is 1.5 cents more than one week ago, 3.6 cents higher than one month ago and $1.169 greater than one year ago. It has risen $1.161 since the start of the year
