Firefighters Monday knocked down a 60-by-60-foot brush fire in a southern area of Talbert Regional Park in Costa Mesa.
Costa Mesa firefighters were dispatched at about 6:30 a.m. to 1298 Victoria St. and had the blaze under control in about 30 minutes, with the assistance of the Orange County Fire Authority and the Newport Beach and Huntington Beach fire departments, according to Costa Mesa Fire Department Captain Joseph Noceti.
“Basically, now, we’re in the mop-up stages,” Noceti said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
