The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose one-tenth of a cent Friday to $4.404, one day after remaining unchanged.

The average price is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago, 2.5 cents higher than one month ago and $1.18 greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen $1.17 since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped a half-cent to $4.363, one day after rising four-tenths of a cent. It is three-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but 1.4 cents more than one month ago and $1.162 higher than one year ago. It has risen $1.152 since the start of the year.
